An EPIC Day of Spelunking in Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Caves

Beginning with a simple way to explain how epic the adventure through the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) caves were, we will start by saying that National Geographic named the ATM caves the most sacred cave in the world!  Not only that, the ATM cave is a mind blowing adventure as you walk, wade, and swim through the caves river, including some tight spaces, and very large areas.  You get to observe all the different formations in the cave including flowstone, stalactites, stalagmites, etc.  Along the way you learn so much history of the mayan culture back thousands of years ago.

Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary and Jaguar Preserve

Belize has a lot of undeveloped land which means tons of beautiful jungle to explore! The Cockscomb Basin is a protected area of land designated as a jaguar preserve, however, you probably won’t be seeing any jaguars, but thats not saying you won’t!  This area of the jungle of Belize is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are staying in nearby towns including Dangriga, Hopkins, and Placencia.

Snorkelling the Belize Barrier Reef in Ambergris Caye

After a half day snorkelling in the Caye Caulker Marine Reserve, we were dying to see the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and more nurse sharks!  As we arrived in Ambergris Caye we found Jose at Mundo Maya, a company running various tours.  We always try to do as much as we can without  a tour, but for this, unless you have your own boat, there is no other way.
